LDN Bow Script, designed by Paul Harpin, was inspired by a memorial plaque to the Republican poet John Milton — spotted high up on the wall of Saint Mary-le-Bow church. The original plaque is in a very poor state — it is an epitaph to Milton by John Dryden. 

Unusually, the weight of the lower case strokes are at the top and bottom. But when they come together with the caps, and simpler small caps, they do seem to work well together. Although carved in stone and gilded, the original plaque probably owes more to great penmanship than letter carving. 

The new LDN Bow Script is loaded with extra ligatures and optional alternate characters; for example there are six capital letter Ls.
